Evan Spencer
Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Technical Committee
Mr Evan Spencer is an experienced executive with over 25 years in the mining and minerals industry. He has depth of experience in managing and developing mining operations both underground and open pit globally, including securing permitting approvals and joint venture management agreements and brings extensive technical and strategic leadership skills to the Scotgold team.
He has held a wide range of senior management and operational roles for international companies including Barrick Gold Corporation, St Barabra Ltd, Kagara Corporation and Goldfields of South Africa. Mr Spencer is currently the Executive Chairman for ASX listed Kasbah Resources Ltd Australian listed mineral exploration and development company advancing the Achmmach Tin Project in the Kingdom of Morrocco. More recently, Mr Spencer was the Chief Executive Officer of Nevada Copper Corp in the United States and prior to this, the Chief Executive Officer of Asian Mineral Resources, managing the construction, permitting, commissioning and ramp up of production at the Ban Phuc nickel mine in Vietnam.
Evan holds a Master of Mineral Economics, a Bachelor of Applied Science Geology (Hons), completed post-graduate studies in mine engineering, business, economics, and frontline management. Mr Spencer also holds a W.A. First Class Managers Certificate.
